    Namibian President Hage Geingob dies after cancer diagnosis | Action Punjab

    ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: Namibia’s President Hage Geingob died at the age of 82 on Sunday morning in a hospital, the presidency announced, weeks after being diagnosed with cancer.

    The post on social media platform X did not specify the cause of death, but late last month, the presidency announced that he would travel to the United States for treatment after being diagnosed with cancer during a routine medical check-up.

    According to the presidency, Geingob died at Lady Pohamba Hospital in Windhoek while being treated by his medical team.

    In 2014, while serving as Prime Minister, he informed the public that he had survived prostate cancer. He became president the following year.

    The southern African country is set to hold presidential and parliamentary elections at the end of this year.
