    Inspired by ‘Farzi’ series, two arrested for circulating fake currency | Action Punjab

    Hyderabad: Two individuals have been arrested in Hyderabad for producing fake Indian currency notes and circulating them. 

    The police revealed on Sunday that fake currency amounting to over Rs 4 lakh was seized from the duo. 
    According to police statement, the main accused, Vanam Laxminarayana, who possesses computer skills, allegedly employed a screen printer, green foil paper, JK Excel bond papers, cutters, and a lamination machine to carry out the illegal activity.

    After being inspired by ‘Farzi’ web series, he decided to print fake notes and circulate them in the market.
    His alleged accomplice, Erukala Pranay Kumar, was caught testing fake money at a fruit and vegetable market with Rs 20,000 in fake currency.

    Police further said, “We have seized 810 fake currency notes in the Rs 500 denomination that were intended to be circulated. Printers, Scanner and other things were also seized.” 

    During the investigation, it was revealed that Laxminarayana, previously involved in a mortgage fraud, involved Kumar in the crime, promising a share of the profits.

    Both accused are now in the Hyderabad Police’s custody.

    Farzi is an Indian Hindi-language black comedy crime thriller television series created, produced and directed by Raj & DK, who also co-wrote the series with Sita Menon and Suman Kumar. It stars Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna and Bhuvan Arora, and tells the story of a disillusioned artist who decides to make counterfeit money.
