Jharkhand floor test: Jharkhand is expected to significant trust vote today with the newly appointed Chief Minister Champai Soren to undergo a trust vote in the assembly today.
The state witnessed a political crisis when Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Hemant Soren resigned as CM and was later arrested on January 31 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case. Following this, the state’s transport minister and JMM leader Champai Soren asserted his claim to form the government and was designated Chief Minister by Governor C P Radhakrishnan on February 1.
The special court on Monday allowed arrested former Chief Minister (CM) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren to participate in the special session of the Jharkhand State Legislative Assembly and vote in the floor test for the government of CM Champai Soren.
Meanwhile, in view of the upcoming special session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, the Ranchi district administration has imposed Section 144 of CrPC within a 100-meter radius of the assembly building.
As per an official order, restrictions will be imposed from Monday at 8:00 am until Tuesday at 10:00 pm.
As per district administration officials, the directives prohibit any form of procession, rally, demonstration, or encroachment in the specified area, the circular stated.
The order prohibits the gathering of five or more individuals, except for government officials, employees engaged in official duties, and participants in judicial and religious activities.
