Himachal Pradesh snowfall: Himachal Pradesh finds itself grappling with the aftermath of an onslaught of heavy snowfall, resulting in a staggering 475 road closures, including five national highways, disrupting vehicular movement across the state.
As per the State Disaster Management Authority, 333 electricity supply schemes and 57 water supply schemes were also disrupted due to snowfall in the region.
Details of roads closed in Himachal Pradesh
As per the data, 56 roads in Chamba, 1 in Kangra, 6 in Kinnaur, 51 in Mandi and 133 roads in Shimla were closed due to snowfall.
As many as 504 roads, including 4 national highways, were closed, and electricity and water supply schemes were disrupted in the state due to snowfall.

The nine stations reported 1-5 feet of snow depth and also gave details on the road status. The stations included Keylong, Kaza, Sumdo, Udaipur, Tindi, Koksar, Sissu, North Portal and South Portal.
Orange & Yellow Alert issued in Himachal Pradesh
The Indian Meteorological Department also issued orange alert for snowfall across Himachal Pradesh issued by the local weather office on Saturday evening has been changed to yellow warning of thunderstorms, lightning and hail storm with heavy snow at isolated places on Sunday
Currently, snow-clearing operations are in full swing in nine stations of Lahaul-Spiti following fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of the district.
Himachal Pradesh, a popular destination, has been attracting a significant number of tourists since the beginning of the New Year. While other North Indian states are grappling with fog, Himachal Pradesh is experiencing snowfall.
Despite the scenic allure, the Himachal Pradesh Police are cautioning individuals to evaluate weather conditions before undertaking journeys, emphasizing the necessity of travel only when essential.
