Delhi court to decide on Arvind Kejriwal case at 4 pm | Action Punjab

ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: Today, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court convened to hear the Enforcement Directorate’s plea against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for alleged non-compliance with the agency’s summons. The summons were issued in relation to the liquor policy case.

The court, presided over by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Divya Malhotra, reserved its order for 4 pm later in the day. The Enforcement Directorate had initiated legal proceedings against Kejriwal on February 3, citing his failure to adhere to the summonses issued in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged excise policy scam.

Notably, this marks the fifth time Kejriwal has been summoned in relation to this case. During the hearing, the public prosecutor informed the court that no further submissions were required at this stage. Kejriwal has consistently maintained his stance against appearing before the federal anti-money laundering agency, asserting that the summonses were unlawful. He has labeled them as politically motivated attempts to hinder his election campaigning activities.

Previously, the AAP leader had penned a letter to the Enforcement Directorate, denouncing the summonses as “illegal and politically motivated.” In parallel, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government of orchestrating efforts to destabilise the Kejriwal-led administration.
