Indore man held for leaving 20-day-old daughter in bushes, says ‘wanted a son’ | ActionPunjab

ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: A man in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore was apprehended on Thursday after allegedly abandoning his newborn daughter in a patch of bushes.

According to the police, Rohit Yadav (30) abandoned his newborn daughter in the bushes near a jail under construction on the Indore-Ujjain road while expecting a son.

“Yadav has a two-year-old daughter and is expecting a son. His wife gave birth to their second daughter about 20 days ago,” said PL Sharma, in charge of the Hira Nagar Police Station.

The police questioned Yadav after his family reported the missing infant, and he confessed to the crime. The infant was then rescued and handed over to the family.

Yadav, a computer operator, told police that he abandoned his second daughter because his wish to have a son was not fulfilled.

“Appropriate legal action is being taken against Yadav, who is yet to be arrested,” Sharma said.
