Haryana internet blocked, borders sealed for farmers’ Delhi march | Action Punjab

ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: Ahead of the scheduled ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on February 13 by over 200 farmers’ unions, including the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, the Haryana government under Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has taken precautionary measures. Here are the details:

    1. Internet and Communication Suspension: The Haryana government has suspended mobile internet, bulk SMS, and all dongle services in several districts, including Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad, and Sirsa, until February 13.

    2. Purpose of the March: The farmers’ unions aim to press the central government to meet various demands, notably the enactment of a law guaranteeing a minimum support price (MSP) for crops.

    3. Security Arrangements: Elaborate security arrangements have been made at the Punjab-Haryana border in Ambala, Jind, and Fatehabad districts. Haryana police and local administration are barricading these areas in anticipation of the march.

    4. Alternative Routes: Commuters traveling from Chandigarh to Delhi are advised to take alternative routes via Derabassi, Barwala/Ramgarh, Saha, Shahbad, Kurukshetra, or through Panchkula, NH-344 Yamunanagar Indri/Pipli, Karnal.

    5. Deployment of Forces: Haryana Police has deployed 50 companies of central paramilitary forces to maintain law and order. Farmers have been warned against participating in the march without permission and damaging public property.

    6. Travel Advisory: The general public is urged to travel to Punjab only in urgent circumstances due to the ongoing situation.

    7. March Routes: Farmers plan to head to Delhi from various border points, including the Ambala-Shambhu border, Khanauri-Jind, and the Dabwali border.

With tensions running high and security measures in place, authorities are bracing for the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march, which is expected to draw significant attention to the farmers’ demands and their ongoing protests against the government’s agricultural policies.
