PTC Web Desk: A 33-year-old woman of Indian origin has been charged with the murder of her 10-year-old daughter, Shay Kang, whose body was found at their residence in Rowley Regis, a town in England’s West Midlands region, on Monday. Jaskirat Kaur, alias Jasmine Kang, was arrested on Monday at the family home where Shay Kang’s body was found. She appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court in England on Wednesday.
West Midlands Police revealed that the young girl was found with injuries at her home on Robin Close in Rowley Regis on Monday, and she was announced dead at the scene. A cordon remains in place at the property, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The police have stated that they are not seeking any further suspects in connection with the case, and the investigation is ongoing. The tragic incident has deeply affected the local community, with Shay Kang being remembered as a “bright, happy, and fun-loving child” by Brickhouse Primary School, where she was a student. The school is providing support to students and staff following the heartbreaking event.
Residents in the area have expressed their condolences by placing flowers, cards, and balloons near the scene of the incident. Additionally, a GoFundMe page has been established to assist with Shay’s funeral expenses. The page, having already raised over £3,800, aims to ensure that Shay is remembered in a beautiful and dignified manner, as she “didn’t deserve this at all.”
