Delhi police officer suspended for kicking men during Friday Prayers; video viral | ActionPunjab

New Delhi, March 8: In a disturbing incident, a Delhi Police officer, in-charge of a police post in the Inderlok area, has been suspended and is now facing disciplinary action after a video surfaced showing him kicking and assaulting a group of men during Friday prayers. The 34-second video depicts the officer attempting to disperse a few men praying near a mosque in the neighborhood. Suddenly, in a burst of rage, he kicks two men from behind and appears to strike the second one on the neck. In a longer video, the same officer is seen violently shoving the men who were engaged in prayer.

The incident prompted immediate action, with MK Meena, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Delhi North), stating, “In the incident which happened today, the police post in-charge – who was seen in the video – has been suspended with immediate effect. Necessary disciplinary action is also being taken.” A departmental inquiry has been initiated, according to police sources.

The suspended officer also allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with bystanders in the videos, and he himself became a target of assault. Enraged protesters took to the streets, blocking the road to demand accountability for the officer’s actions.

Reports suggest that the men were praying outside because the mosque was already filled to capacity. Following the incident, security has been intensified in the area to maintain law and order.
