New Delhi, March 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to witness a comprehensive Tri-Services Live Fire and Manoeuvre Exercise named ‘Bharat Shakti’ at Pokhran, Rajasthan, on Tuesday. The event will showcase a synergised display of indigenous defence capabilities, aligning with India’s Aatmanirbharata initiative.
The exercise aims to exhibit the nation’s prowess through a diverse range of indigenous weapon systems and platforms. It serves as a demonstration of India’s commitment to self-reliance in defence manufacturing, a key pillar of the Aatmanirbharata initiative.
Multi-Domain Operations Simulation
‘Bharat Shakti’ is designed to simulate realistic, synergised, multi-domain operations, illustrating the integrated operational capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces. The exercise will present strategies to counter threats across land, air, sea, cyber, and space domains, emphasising the military’s preparedness for a wide range of challenges.
Key Participants and Demonstrations
The exercise will feature an impressive lineup of key equipment and weapons systems. The Indian Army will showcase T-90 (IM) Tanks, Dhanush and Sarang Gun Systems, Akash Weapons Systems, Logistics Drones, Robotic Mules, Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), and various unmanned aerial vehicles. These demonstrations underscore the advanced ground warfare and aerial surveillance capabilities of the Indian Army.
The Indian Navy’s participation includes displays of Naval Anti-Ship Missiles, Autonomous Cargo Carrying Aerial Vehicles, and Expendable Aerial Targets, showcasing the maritime strength and technological sophistication of the naval forces.
The Indian Air Force is set to deploy indigenously developed assets such as the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, Light Utility Helicopters, and Advanced Light Helicopters. These demonstrations highlight India’s air superiority and versatility in air operations, showcasing the indigenous advancements in aerial capabilities.
Emphasis on Aatmanirbharta in Defence
Bharat Shakti’ serves as a clear indication of India’s preparedness to confront and overcome contemporary and future challenges using home-grown solutions.
