    Delhi Police bust racket supplying ‘fake’ cancer chemotherapy drugs; 7 arrested | Action Punjab


    ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has busted a ring of seven people accused of manufacturing and supplying counterfeit ‘life-saving’ cancer chemotherapy drugs. 

    The arrested accused have been identified as Viphil Jain (46), Suraj Shat (28), Neeraj Chauhan (38), Parvez (33), Komal Tiwari (39), Abhinay Kohli (30), and Tushar Chauhan (28). 

    “Information about a racket involved in the manufacture and supply of counterfeit cancer medicine was received, and a dedicated team was formed,” Special Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Shalini Singh stated.

    The officer stated that based on the information gathered, simultaneous raids were conducted at four different locations: two flats in Moti Nagar, one flat in Gurgaon’s South City, one flat in Yamuna Vihar in northeast Delhi, and a well-known cancer hospital in Delhi. 

    The Special CP stated that two flats in DLF Capital Greens, Moti Nagar, were the primary location where Viphil Jain, the mastermind of this racket, manufactured spurious cancer medicines. 

    “Jain had taken two EWS flats in Moti Nagar and used the same flat to refill the fake cancer medicine (vials). Suraj Shat was in charge of refilling and packaging these vials,” the senior officer explained.

    According to the officials, 140 filled vials of spurious cancer injections of Opdyta, Keytruda, Dextrose, Fluconazole brands, with three cap sealing machines, one Heat Gun Machine and 197 empty vials and other essential packaging material were seized.

    According to the Special CP, Neeraj Chauhan kept a large stash of fake cancer injections in his Gurgaon flat.

    The officer reported that during the raid, 864 empty packaging boxes containing vials of the aforementioned spurious cancer vials as well as 137 vials of spurious cancer injections, including Keytruda, Infinzi, Tecentriq, Perjeta, Opdyta, Darzalex & Erbitux, and 519 empty vials of Keytruda, Infinzi, Tecentriq, Perjeta, Opdyta, Darzalex & Phesgo, were found.
