Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released the second list of candidates for 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The list names 72 candidates, including three former Chief Ministers – Manohar Lal Khattar, Trivendra Singh Rawat and Basvaraj Bommai.
The second list also includes four Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Anurag Thakur, Piyush Goyal and Pralhad Joshi.
The list was released a day after turmoil in BJP-led Haryana. Manohar Lal Khattar, who resigned as Haryana Chief Minister on March 12, has been fielded to contest polls from the Karnal Lok Sabha seat.
Key BJP leaders named in list
Anurag Thakur: The Union Minister will contest from Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur constituency. Meanwhile, Suresh Kashyap has been fielded from Shimla seat.
Pralhad Joshi: The Union Minister in the Modi-led cabinet will contest from Karnataka’s Dharwad.
Tejaswi Surya will run for the Bangalore South constituency.
Basvaraj Bommai: Former Karnataka Chief Minister will contest from the Haveri Lok Sabha seat. PC Mohan will contest from Bangalore Central.
Nitin Gadkari: BJP has decided to field the Union Minister from Maharashtra’s Nagpur seat.
Piyush Goyal: He will run from Mumbai North.

Earlier, on Saturday, BJP released its first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will run in the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi again.
Meanwhile, Congress has announced candidates for 82 Lok Sabha seats.
