Mohali, January 22: In a grand and jubilant celebration, Wave Estate, Sector 85, Mohali, witnessed an extravagant Shri Ram Mahotsav, creating a festive atmosphere that echoed the cultural vibrancy and spiritual fervour associated with the revered deity, Lord Rama. The magnificence of this event was accentuated by a splendid display of a grand scale ‘Jhanki’ (procession) that unfolded in the midst of the community, reminiscent of the fervour seen in Ayodhya leading up to the consecration of the Ram Temple.

Veronica Vasudeva (4) from Chandigarh’s Vivek High School played chilhood character of Lord Rama, which was the centre of attraction. Children were also included in this event so that they could witness and be a part of this significant occasion. 

Organised by the Shree Sanatan Dharam Mandir & Welfare Society, Wave Estate, Mohali, under the leadership of president Kiran Paul, and the Shree Ramleela & Dassehara Samiti, Wave Estate, Mohali, along with the enthusiastic participation of all Wave Estate residents, Shri Ram Mahotsav was a testament to communal harmony and devotion.

The festivities kicked off with a majestic Bhavya Shobha Yatra, a grand procession that showcased a Divya Ram Mandir Jhanki and Shree Ram Darbar Darshan. The air was filled with devotion as residents and onlookers witnessed the divine tableau, bringing to life the essence of Lord Rama’s journey and his divine presence.

One of the highlights of the event was an informative session on the history of the Ram Mandir, providing attendees with insights into the rich cultural and spiritual heritage associated with this iconic temple. The programme aimed not only to celebrate, but also to educate, fostering a deeper connection to the roots of this significant religious landmark.

The cultural extravaganza continued with mesmerising Bhakti Ras Nratya and a soul-stirring Ram Bhajan Mala, filling the surroundings with the melodious tunes of devotion. As the day progressed, the atmosphere was illuminated with the brilliance of Deepotsav and fireworks Atishbaji, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, a theme integral to the Ramayana.

A communal feast, Bhandara Prasad, added a touch of warmth and unity to the celebrations, where residents came together to share in the joyous occasion. This collective effort underscored the spirit of togetherness that defines the Wave Estate community.
