    Accused to undergo psychological tests to help ascertain their intent | Action Punjab


    Parliament security breach: The six accused in the parliament security breach case will be subjected to psychoanalysis tests, which will help investigators determine their intent and motives behind the smoke scare incident.

    On Thursday, one of the six accused was taken to the forensic science laboratory for the test. Others will be tested one by one as well.

    Psychoanalysis is a psychological test of undertrials to better understand their habits, routines, and behaviour.

    Psychiatrists administer the tests in a question-and-answer format. Psychiatrists and investigators try to figure out the purpose of committing a crime based on the answers given by the accused.

    This three-hour test is conducted at the forensic lab of the Central Bureau of Investigation and FSL Rohini.

    The Delhi Police recently conducted psychoanalysis on the accused in the Shraddha Walkar murder and the Shahbad Dairy murder cases.

    Parliament security breach:

    So far, six people have been arrested in connection with the smoke scare in parliament last week.

    According to the accused, their goal was to draw attention to the unrest in Manipur, unemployment, and farmer issues. Police, on the other hand, have stated that they are looking into all possibilities.

    The main four accused, who were arrested from the parliament complex on December 13, were remanded in police custody for another 15 days yesterday. 

    Manoranjan and Sagar Sharma, who trespassed into the Lok Sabha, Amol Shinde and Neelam Azad, who used smoke canisters outside parliament, Lalit Jha, believed to be the mastermind of the security breach, and Mahesh Kumawat, who allegedly assisted Jha, are among those arrested.

    Saikrishna Jagali, a techie and the son of a retired police officer was detained in Karnataka yesterday. According to sources, he is a friend of Manoranjan and was named by him during the interrogation.
