ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: A man set his sister-in-law over a family grudge in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district and later called her brother to inform him about the incident. The woman died on the spot, according to Police.
The deceased has been identified as Nirmala who died of severe burn injuries.
Prakash, the woman’s husband, died by suicide six months ago and his elder brother Suresh blamed Nirmala for driving his younger brother to suicide.
Nirmala had been living with her two children in her in-laws’ home since her husband’s death. Her brother-in-law, on the other hand, held a grudge against her, blaming her for his younger brother’s death, according to local police.
Suresh assaulted the woman, dragged her out of the house, poured petrol on her, and set her on fire on Saturday. According to police, she died on the spot.
“We received a phone call from Suresh saying, ‘We have set your sister on fire.'” He used to blame my sister for the death of her husband.” Nirmala’s brother told reporters, “They’ve been threatening to kill her.”
“I was going to bring her home today when they called us to say they have killed her,” he said.
Suresh has been arrested, according to the police.
