Maha Raas in Dwarka: Dwarka, Gujarat witnessed a breathtaking spectacle as over 37,000 women congregated for the Maha Raas event spanning December 23-24. Bedecked in traditional red attire, these women engaged in synchronous dancing, encircling the idol of Lord Krishna, delving deep into the spiritual fervour of the occasion.

The gathering paid homage to Raas by Usha, the daughter of Banasur and daughter-in-law of Lord Krishna, a significant narrative in the event’s proceedings, as per a regional website. Organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Yadav Samaj and Ahirani Mahila Mandal, the event unfolded within the vast expanse of the Nanddham campus at the ACC Cement company. Notably, the participation wasn’t limited to India; attendees from diverse corners of the globe joined the festivity. This grand congregation witnessed over 150,000 members from the Ahir Yadav community, creating a vibrant tapestry of cultural unity and celebration, as highlighted on the local website.
Post the mesmerising performances, each of the 37,000 women received a gift—a Gita book—a gesture reported by the local website, symbolising a token of appreciation for their participation and contribution to the auspicious event.
