PTC Web Desk: Mumbai was thrown into a state of panic when bomb threats targeted three major financial institutions — the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank – prompting a comprehensive security operation across the city. The RBI received an email threat demanding the resignations of RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman just before 11 locations in Mumbai were flagged as potential targets for detonation at 1:30 pm.
The threatening email outlined plans to attack the offices of RBI, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank. It demanded the immediate resignation of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das. It claimed that 11 bomb attacks were scheduled to occur at 11 locations in Mumbai by 1:30 pm on Tuesday. Despite the Mumbai Police investigating all mentioned sites, no suspicious items were found.
A case has been registered at the MRA Marg Police Station in Mumbai to further probe the threat.
