A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing pedestrians and motorists attempting to find a different path as the plane blocks the stretch of road.
The video shows a long queue of vehicles on NH 27, with the aeroplane protruding from the trailer truck beneath the Piprakothi bridge.
According to authorities, the truck driver miscalculated the height of the bridge and thought he could pass beneath it.
The plane and lorry were safely extricated and returned to their destination.
