NIA seizes car used in case linked to terrorist Rinda | ActionPunjab

Haryana explosives, arms seizure: NIA seized a vehicle on Wednesday in a case involving the seizure of explosives, arms, and ammunition from the possession of four men linked to Pakistan-based ‘listed terrorist’ Harwinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda in Haryana in 2022.

Rinda is a leader of the proscribed terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

In the NIA case, the vehicle was seized under the provisions of the 25 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967 as ‘proceeds of terrorism’.

The agency filed the case after taking over the investigation from the Haryana Police on May 24, 2022, following the seizure of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), as well as arms and ammunition, at the Bastara Toll Plaza in Madhuban, Haryana.

Haryana Police seized three IEDs, one pistol with two magazines, and Rs 1.30 lakhs in cash from the possession of accused named Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, Amandeep Singh alias Deepa, Parminder Singh alias Pinder, and Bhupinder Singh on May 5, 2022. They had stored the terror hardware consignment in a specially designed cavity in their Innova MUV for delivery in Adilabad, Telangana, at the behest of Rinda.

During investigations, it was discovered that the accused, Gurpreet, Amandeep, Akash, Sukhbeer, and Jarmalpreet, had received multiple consignments of arms, ammunition, explosives, and narcotics sent from Pakistan by terrorist Harwinder Singh Sandhu via drones at predetermined locations near the Indo-Pakistan border.
