Naxal Attack: At least three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and 14 others injured during an encounter with naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Tuesday.
According to Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) P. Sundarraj, the incident happened near Tekalgudem village while a joint team of security personnel was conducting a search operation.
The injured are now out of danger and being treated in Raipur.
The village is located on the border between Bijapur and Sukma districts.

A team from the 201 Cobra Battalion and the 150 CRPF Battalion was working in the area to establish a Forward Operating Base (FOB) when the exchange of fire began around 1 p.m.
A FOB is a remote camp set up to help security forces operate in core Naxal areas.
Notably, 22 jawans were killed in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh in 2021 along the Sukma-Bijapur border.
