    PGIMER secures allocation of Rs 2,200 crore in Budget for FY24-25 | Action Punjab


    Chandigarh: PGIMER secured a substantial boost in funding with an allocation of Rs 2,200 crore in the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. 

    The allocated amount marks a notable increase of Rs 73 crore compared to the Revised Budget Estimates of the previous financial year.

    The allocation for the Creation of Capital Assets is Rs 350 crore (343 crore RE 2023-24). Budget estimate under the Grant-in-aid for salaries & under the Grant-in-aid (General), are at i.e. Rs 1500 crore (Rs 1,450 crore RE 2023-24) and Rs 340 crore (Rs 320 crore RE 2023-24) respectively.  Rs 10.00 crore was allocated under budget Head Grant-in-aid (SAP), same as RE 2023-24.  

    Notably, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Interim Budget 2024-25 before the country heads for Lok Sabha polls. This was her be sixth Budget as the Finance Minister and last in the second term of the Modi government. 

    The new government will present a full budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 (Union Budget 2024) following the Lok Sabha elections.
