ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: The All Indian Cine Workers Association on Saturday penned a letter to the Senior Police Inspector at Mumbai’s Vikhroli Police Station, requesting that an FIR be filed against model Poonam Pandey and her manager.
Writing to the officials, the AICWA stated that fake news of Poonam Pandey’s death due to cervical cancer sent a shockwave among all in the Indian Film industry. The association further accused the actor and model of spreading fake news as a publicity stunt. “This fake news was created for a Publicity stunt by Model and Actress Poonam Pandey which is being confirmed by her manager,” it said.
“This fake news had hurt the sentiments of all Indians who paid tribute to her,” it added.
“Strict action against them is necessary so that such types of fake news will not be circulated by anyone. Such cheap publicity is not at all accepted in our Indian Film Industry which has high emotional values for all,” the letter further read.
Earlier in the day, AICWA took to Twitter and said, “The fake PR stunt by model and actress Poonam Pandey is highly wrong. Using the guise of cervical cancer for self-promotion is not acceptable. After this news, people may hesitate to believe any death news in the Indian film industry. No one in the film industry stoops to such levels for PR.”
“Poonam Pandey’s manager had confirmed the False News, so there should be an FIR against Poonam Pandey and her manager to prevent anyone from exploiting their own death news for personal gains (PR). The entire Indian film industry, along with the entire nation, paid tribute.”
