5-star hotel murder resolved swiftly after discovery of intimate photos | Action Punjab

ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: A tragic love triangle culminated in a gruesome murder at a luxurious five-star hotel near Guwahati airport, sending shockwaves through the city. Sandip Suresh Kambli, a 42-year-old car dealer from Pune, was discovered dead in his hotel room, bleeding profusely from his nose. The swift resolution of the case by law enforcement officials prevented the accused from fleeing to Kolkata, merely hours after the incident.

The accused, identified as Anjali Shaw, 25, and her boyfriend Rakesh Shaw, 27, were apprehended before they could board their flight to Kolkata later that night. Anjali, employed at a restaurant in the Kolkata airport, had formed a relationship with Kambli, whom she had met at the airport a year prior.

However, complications arose as Anjali was already romantically involved with Rakesh, who had been urging her to marry him. Matters escalated when intimate pictures of Anjali and Kambli were discovered on Kambli’s phone, leading to tension between the trio. In a bid to address the situation, the couple devised a plan to confront Kambli about the photos. Originally intending to meet at the Kolkata airport, Kambli redirected the rendezvous to Guwahati, where he booked a room at the upscale hotel.

Upon arriving in Guwahati, Anjali and Rakesh checked into separate rooms, unbeknownst to Kambli. Anjali met with Kambli as planned, while Rakesh arrived separately. During their meeting, a confrontation ensued between Kambli and Rakesh, resulting in a physical altercation that left Kambli injured. The couple fled the scene after seizing two mobile phones belonging to Kambli, which reportedly contained the incriminating photos.

Prompt action by hotel authorities and the Guwahati city police, aided by meticulous scrutiny of hotel records, CCTV footage, and passenger manifests, facilitated the swift arrest of Anjali and Rakesh before they could board their flight to Kolkata. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are working to piece together the sequence of events that led to the fatal altercation, shedding light on the tragic consequences of a love affair gone awry.
