    IndiGo flight from Amritsar misses taxiway at Delhi airport; runway blocked 15 mins | ActionPunjab


    New Delhi, February 11: An incident occurred on Sunday morning at the Delhi airport involving an IndiGo aircraft from Amritsar, which missed the designated taxiway upon landing. Flight 6E 2221, operated by an A320 aircraft, proceeded to the dead end of runway 28/10 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).

    As a result of the mishap, one of the runways was obstructed for approximately 15 minutes, impacting several flight operations, according to a source familiar with the situation. Subsequently, an IndiGo towing van was deployed to relocate the aircraft from the runway’s dead end to a parking bay.

    As of now, there has been no official statement from IndiGo regarding the incident. The IGIA, being the country’s largest airport, typically manages around 1,400 flights daily, with four operational runways.
