PTC Web Desk: In a shocking incident, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker was shot dead in broad daylight in Tarn Taran district on Friday . The victim, identified as Gurpreet Gopi, was allegedly attacked by unidentified assailants near a checkpoint in close proximity to Goindwal Sahib in Tarn Taran district. Gurpreet Gopi was stated to be a close aide of MLA from Khadoor Sahib Manjinder Singh Lalpura. He was traveling in a car when the assailants intercepted him and opened fire.
According to information, the AAP worker was en route to Fattuabad when he was pursued by attackers in another vehicle. As he approached the Fattuabad checkpoint, which was closed at the time, the assailants opened fire at him. Multiple shots were fired, leading to his death on the spot.
Panic has gripped the area. The attackers managed to flee the scene after committing the crme . The police have initiated further investigations.
