ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: Disturbing revelations have surfaced regarding the gang-rape incident involving a Spanish travel vlogger in Dumka, Jharkhand. According to reports, the victim alleges that she was subjected to threats, physical assault, and rape by a group of seven men during the harrowing ordeal on March 1.
The Indian Express, referencing the police FIR, disclosed that the victim was purportedly threatened with a dagger, kicked, punched, and subsequently assaulted by all seven perpetrators over a duration of two and a half hours. The incident transpired in the Kurumahat area within the jurisdiction of the Hansdiha police station, approximately 300 kilometers from the state capital, Ranchi. The victim and her husband were reportedly spending the night in a tent when the heinous crime occurred.
Reportedly, the 28-year-old woman’s statement was recorded at 2:05 am on March 2 at the community health center. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged under IPC sections 376D (gangrape) and 395 (dacoity).
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice as authorities continue to investigate the matter.

Details from the FIR shed light on Dumka gang-rape incident
The FIR lodged in connection with the Dumka gang-rape case provides harrowing insights into the ordeal faced by the victim and her husband. According to the FIR, the sequence of events began with three men engaging in a quarrel with the victim’s husband, eventually assaulting him and restraining his hands.
The victim recounted that subsequently, four other men forcefully abducted her, brandishing a dagger. She described being thrown to the ground, subjected to physical assault, and repeatedly raped by all seven assailants. The distressing assault unfolded over a span of approximately two and a half hours, with the victim noting that the perpetrators appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during the ordeal.
Explaining why they chose to stay in Kumrahat village, Dumka, the victim shared that while on their journey, they reached the village and decided to set up a temporary tent for an overnight stay due to the late hour. However, their peaceful night took a horrifying turn when they heard suspicious noises outside their tent. Upon investigating, they encountered a group of individuals, some of whom approached them while others moved toward their tent.
The victim detailed that in addition to the sexual assault, the perpetrators also robbed them of various belongings, including a Swiss knife, wristwatch, rings, electronic devices, cash in Indian and foreign currency, as well as utensils.
Despite the trauma inflicted upon them, the victim expressed gratitude towards the people of India for their kindness and hospitality throughout their travels. She emphasized that while the criminals were to blame for the heinous act, her positive experiences with the Indian populace remained unchanged.
On Tuesday, the couple departed for Nepal via Bihar, intending to continue their global tour. Despite the traumatic incident, the victim affirmed her commitment to continue traveling alongside her husband, reflecting on the positive memories they had amassed during their time in India.
