ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: Seventy-six students from Aryan Residency and Lloyd Hostel in the Knowledge Park police station area of Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida were hospitalised after suffering from food poisoning, confirmed Greater Noida police. According to news agency ANI, the students are currently undergoing treatment and are out of danger.

The incident occurred after the students had dinner on Friday, prepared for those observing the Mahashivratri fast at a private hostel in Greater Noida. The meal included ‘puris’ made of ‘kuttu ka atta’ (buckwheat flour) in celebration of Mahashivratri.

After consuming the meal, many students complained of uneasiness, dizziness, and vomiting. They were immediately attended to and taken to various hospitals in the area. The students, who are enrolled at different colleges, reside in Aryan Residency, located in the Knowledge Park area, known for its concentration of educational institutions.

In a statement, the police mentioned that around 76 students experienced stomach upset after dinner on Friday evening. However, their condition is reported to be stable now, and there is no unrest in the area due to the incident. The authorities are actively investigating the matter.

They were promptly taken to nearby hospitals for medical attention. The incident highlights the importance of food safety measures, especially during religious observances when specific dietary practices are followed.
