ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: According to the United Nations, Hafiz Saeed, the orchestrator behind the notorious Mumbai terror attack, is currently undergoing a 78-year imprisonment in Pakistan, having been convicted in seven cases related to terror financing. The UN’s 1267 Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee confirmed this information, highlighting Saeed’s status as a global terrorist and his custody under the Pakistani government since February 12, 2020.
India has persistently urged Pakistan to extradite Saeed, a UN-designated terrorist wanted by Indian investigative agencies in multiple terror-related investigations. The Security Council Committee made amendments to its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List, which includes asset freezes, travel bans, and arms embargoes.
