Winter break ends: Schools in Delhi will reopen from Monday, January 15, allowing students to resume classes in physical mode. Considering the severity of the cold weather, the government has made changes to school timings to reduce the impact on students.
The official order states that no school will begin its activities before 9:00 a.m. This change in start time is a proactive measure to help students avoid the harsh early morning cold.
Furthermore, the government has stated that no school will remain open after 5:00 p.m., taking into account the dropping temperatures as the evening approaches.
The national capital today recorded a minimum temperature of 3.5 degrees Celsius, and a thick layer of fog was visible in several parts of the city.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi’s minimum temperature today was four degrees below the season’s average. The weather department predicts dense fog and cold wave conditions in the national capital for the next two days.
