ACTION PUNJAB NEWS Desk: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who has been held in custody for over a year in connection with the liquor policy case, has been granted permission by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court to meet his ailing wife and doctors once a week. The court’s decision, provided on Monday, offers some relief to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader.
This allowance comes after Manish Sisodia’s previous custody parole during Diwali last November, where he was permitted to visit his ailing wife. The former Deputy Chief Minister has now sought regular custody parole to meet his wife on a weekly basis. Special Judge MK Nagpal at Rouse Avenue Court issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate regarding this application on February 2.
The court acknowledged that the first application is for seeking regular bail (the second bail application), while the second is for requesting custody parole to meet his ailing wife for two days each week. Manish Sisodia faces charges in the Delhi Excise policy cases investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He has been in custody due to his alleged involvement in the Delhi Liquor scam.

The Supreme Court of India dismissed Manish Sisodia’s bail petition on October 30. Prior bail applications were rejected by the High Court and the trial court on May 30 of the previous year.
Having been arrested by the CBI on February 26 and later by the ED on March 9, Manish Sisodia is accused of generating proceeds of crime amounting to approximately Rs 622 crore through his activities, as per the allegations made by the Enforcement Directorate.
